Getting
Started
|
 |
Perhaps the hardest part of getting started is to identify how
you are feeling or with what emotion you wish to work. For
some, this may mean admitting how they feel (or felt) or
that they actually do (or did) feel. For others, they just may not be
able to identify the specific emotion.
There is no reason to let any of this stop you from starting to
work. If you are unclear or can’t decide for whatever reason,
I recommend listening casually to the entire CD. You will
be drawn to a certain Tool or one will pop into your awareness.
Then
get to work! You will be guided along by what is really your
own self prompted by the unique qualities of the Tools. |
First,
help will come from your power of intent. You set your intent at the
beginning of each work session with each Tool with a simple statement of
intent. For example, before working with the guilt release Tool, you
would declare, “It is my intent to release any conscious or unconscious
guilt.” Notice the word “unconscious.” The unconscious is included
every time in every statement of intent not to take power away from you
but rather, to allow what may be just beyond your awareness to be
included in your work. This increases efficiency and minimizes the time
you are aware of disruptive emotion . There is no need to wallow in
either past or present emotionality. So don’t be afraid of that
happening
|
Secondly, your creative visualization will both give you insight
and lead you along the way. Each Tool encourages such personalization
through choices.
For example, in some of the Tools, you work with an assistant.
Sometimes you will know the perfect assistant to help you work.
Other times, the assistant will come forward on its own.
|
 |
Who or
what comes forward will give you clues, insight, meaning that you can
later contemplate should you choose. If it triggers an emotional
reaction, that’s the Tool to work with next.
There is
no right or wrong order to working with the Tools. The best rule to
follow is work in response to your feelings. Or…keep working with
whatever Tool suggests itself.
